「毛利元就 誓いの三矢」は、光栄（現在の光栄テクモゲームス）が1997年5月23日に発売したシミュレーションRPGで、英傑伝シリーズの第3作目です。本作は当時放送されていたNHK大河ドラマ「毛利元就」と同時にリリースされ、中国地方を支配した戦国大名毛利家の発展の過程を描いており、一部フィクションの要素も含まれています。
本作は基本的に各章に戦闘が含まれており、プレイヤーは勝利することでストーリーを進める必要があります。同シリーズの後に発売された「織田信長伝」とは異なり、「織田信長伝」ではバランスを考慮して敗北時にストーリーの分岐がある可能性がありますが、本作にはそのような分岐はなく、敗北すると直接ゲームオーバーになります。
本作の特徴の一つは、プレイヤーが戦闘前に城下を探索し、城の中の人物と対話することでストーリーを進めることができる点です。さらに、市場や工房で武器を購入したり、演習場で武将のレベルを上げたり、酒場で情報を集めたりすることもできます。
